The Wooden Wick Soaked in Avocado Oil

This is the most distinctive ingredient in a Sweetwick candle — and one of the things that makes us genuinely different from nearly every other candle brand in America.

Our wick is made from wood. Before it goes into any candle, it is hand-soaked in pure avocado oil. To our knowledge, Sweetwick is one of the very few candle makers in the United States doing this — if not the only one.

Why wood? Wooden wicks burn with a softer, more natural flame. They produce a gentle crackling sound as they burn — quiet and rhythmic, like a small fireplace. They also tend to produce less soot than cotton wicks when properly maintained.

Why avocado oil? Avocado oil is food-grade and non-toxic with one of the highest smoke points of any natural oil. Soaking the wooden wick in it before curing means the wick lights more reliably, draws fuel more consistently, and burns more cleanly. It also makes the first light notably easier and extends the evenness of the flame across the full life of the candle.

The result is a burn experience that is quieter, more ambient, and more consistent than a conventional cotton-wicked candle. It is a detail that takes time, costs more to do right, and makes a real difference.

Beeswax & Coconut Wax Blend

Our signature wax is a carefully balanced blend of pure beeswax and coconut wax. Together they deliver a clean, slow burn with a naturally warm scent throw — without any petroleum-based paraffin.

• Pure beeswax — Naturally filtered, creamy white beeswax from responsible apiaries. Burns clean and bright, emits no toxic byproducts, and has one of the highest melting points of any candle wax — contributing to our 35–45 hour burn time.
• Coconut wax — Cold-pressed from mature coconuts. One of the most sustainable candle waxes available, with an exceptional hot and cold scent throw, a silky surface finish, and an exceptionally clean burn.

What we never use: paraffin, soy wax, palm wax, synthetic petroleum-based additives, or UV inhibitors.

Phthalate-Free Fragrance Oils

All Sweetwick candles are scented with premium phthalate-free fragrance oils, evaluated against IFRA (International Fragrance Association) safety standards before use.

Fragrance load is calibrated to fill a room without overwhelming it — a true-to-life scent that complements a space rather than dominates it.

Glass Vessels

Each candle is poured into a clear, heat-resistant glass jar with a flat lid. Designed to be genuinely reusable when the candle is finished — clean with hot soapy water and repurpose as a vase, plant pot, desk organizer, or drinking glass.
